Intro to Sewing Ready to finally learn how to sew? This beginner-friendly 3-part course is your chance to go from “I’ve never touched a sewing machine” to confidently creating your own handmade pieces. Over three Friday mornings, you’ll build skills step-by-step while making projects you’ll actually use and love.
🧵 What You’ll Do Learn how to safely and confidently use a sewing machine Build foundational sewing skills through hands-on practice Complete three projects across different sewing categories: Throw pillow cover (home decor) Tote bag (accessories) Pajama shorts (fashion) Gain the confidence to continue sewing on your own after the course
🧵 What to Bring You’re welcome to bring your own sewing machine (must be in full working order with all parts), or use one of ours.
Project/Class 1 – Throw Pillow Cover
16" x 16" pillow form/insert 1/2 yard non-stretch (cotton) fabric Project/Class 2 – Tote Bag
1 yard non-stretch (quilting cotton) for outer fabric 1 yard non-stretch (quilting cotton) for lining Project/Class 3 – Pajama Shorts
Flannel or quilting cotton (amount varies by size — guidance provided after registration) 1/2" or 3/4" elastic We’ll provide all tools and equipment needed during class.
👥 Who Can Join? Adults ages 18+ Perfect for total beginners — no experience required Supportive, small-group setting so you get plenty of guidance
🧃 Additional Details This is a 3-session course held on Friday mornings at 9:30am Limited to 5 participants, allowing for lots of 1:1 support BYOB: feel free to bring snacks or your favorite beverage Hosted at Make at Rosie — air-conditioned with free parking
